NAHL, B2 Networks Announce Partnership

May 30, 2007

FRISCO, TEXAS – The North American Hockey League announced today that it has formed a partnership for broadband broadcasting with B2 Networks.

The new three-year agreement will provide coverage each season beginning with the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn., and ending with the Robertson Cup Championship. The revolutionary broadband broadcasting network will be the exclusive home of live video for the NAHL.

Last season, B2 Networks broadcast games for the NAHL’s Alaska Avalanche, Fairbanks Ice Dogs and Texas Tornado, as well as every match of the Robertson Cup Championship. The new deal will cover every game of the league’s regular and postseason for the next three years.

Brown Bears set to begin play this fall in North American Hockey League

Junior A hockey comes to Soldotna

By MATTHEW CARROLL
March 2, 2007, Peninsula Clarion

In a third attempt at bringing junior hockey to the Kenai Peninsula, the 18-team North American Hockey League announced on Tuesday the formation of the Kenai River Brown Bears, who will call the Soldotna Sports Center home.

While local fans have already seen the demise of two Junior B hockey organizations, from the tumultuous 4-35 campaign of the Peninsula Hellfighters in 1997-98 to the debt-curtailed stint of the Peninsula Chinooks (1998-2000), backers of the Brown Bears believe a Junior A team will be different. The team will begin play in the fall. MORE
